The FKEY Mover has been designed to function in virtually the same way Apple’s Font/DA Mover does, so that you will be able to begin using the FKEY Mover right away.
To begin, click on an Open… button and you will be presented with a miniFinder dialog which gives you a list of all the FKEYs and System files on your disks. Click on an FKEY or System file and click on the Open button. Click on the other Open… button to open another file so that you can copy FKEYs from/to it if you wish.
The Open… button which you clicked on will now change to a Close button, and listed above the button is the file name which you opened, and in the box there will appear a list of all the FKEYs in that file. You will notice that a number key graphic precedes the name of each FKEY—this is slot in which the FKEY is currently installed.
Clicking on an FKEY’s name will select it (hold down the shift key when clicking on an FKEY’s name to select it in addition to any FKEYs which are already selected), and tell you the size in bytes of the FKEY(s) you have selected. Also, several options will be enabled:
• COPY. Clicking on this button will copy the selected FKEYs to the other open file.
• MOVE. This button presents you with a dialog box that allows you to move the selected FKEY to another number slot.
• REMOVE. This button will remove the selected FKEYs from the file.
If you would like to make a new FKEY Mover file to move FKEYs in and out of, simply click on an Open… button and then click in the New button in the miniFinder dialog box. You will now be presented with another dialog box which allows you to specify the name and location of the new file—when you are satisfied with both, click in the Create button. An empty FKEY Mover file will then be created and opened for you.
When you are done Copying, Moving, and/or Removing FKEYs from a file, click on the Close button under that file’s name and the file will be closed. The button will also change back to an Open… button so that you may open another file if you wish.
When you are entirely through with using the FKEY Mover, click in the Quit button and you will be returned to the Finder.
